ABOUT ME
I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe enough to be yourself, curious enough to
grow, and supported enough to face life’s challenges with confidence. Whether you’re bringing
your child to therapy, navigating parenthood, or looking for support in your own life, my goal is
to meet you with compassion, authenticity, and practical tools that help create meaningful
change.
Much of my work centers around children ages 5 and up through play therapy. Children often
communicate best through play, and I love helping them discover healthy ways to express
emotions, build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop lifelong coping skills. I also
enjoy partnering with parents, helping you better understand your child’s emotional world while
providing strategies that create stronger connections and calmer homes.
I also work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life
transitions, relationship concerns, and the lasting effects of difficult experiences. My approach is
trauma-informed and grounded in understanding how the brain and nervous system respond to
stress. Together, we’ll work to recognize patterns that no longer serve you, strengthen emotional
regulation, and build resilience that lasts beyond our sessions.
As someone who has taught psychology at the college level, I love helping clients understand the
“why” behind their emotions and behaviors. I believe knowledge is empowering, and I enjoy
translating psychology into practical, everyday skills that actually make life feel more
manageable.
At Geek Therapeutics, I especially enjoy incorporating stories and characters that resonate with
clients. Whether it’s the emotional intelligence and family lessons found in Bluey, the themes of
identity, healing, and resilience in Disney and Pixar films like Inside Out and Encanto, or the
courage, friendship, and perseverance found in The Lord of the Rings, I believe meaningful
stories can help us better understand ourselves and the challenges we face. These shared
narratives often become powerful tools for growth, connection, and healing.
My style is warm, collaborative, and personalized because I know every person and every family
has a unique story. I strive to create an inclusive, affirming environment where you feel heard,
respected, and empowered to move toward the life you want. Whether we’re working through
life’s biggest obstacles or celebrating your smallest victories, I’m honored to walk alongside you
every step of the way.
