Membership dues are covered through annual subscription services and is a member benefit with Geek Therapeutics and are billed on your anniversary date. Credentialing fees are also billed annually, however, they are specific to renewing your Certified Geek Therapist, Certified Geek Therapist-Supervisor, and Certified Geek Specialist credential.  Submitting payment for membership does not cover the cost for credentialing and vice versa.

An active state license is required to maintain your Geek Therapeutic credential. Although Geek Therapeutics will make every attempt to provide reminders via email when licensure updates are needed, it is each individual’s responsibility to ensure that their licensing information is correct and current at all times. Failure to do so will result in your credential being placed on ‘Inactive’ status

Renewals may take up to 3-4 weeks for review and processing. Confirmation of renewal letters will be sent to the primary email address listed on your member profile.

There are a few qualifying CE activities that may be counted towards your CE requirement:

• Geek Therapeutics Asynchronous Training
  • These are CE courses that are in your student dashboard
• Geek Therapeutics Live Webinar Training
  • These are CE courses that are provided live monthly
• Geek Therapeutics In-Person Conference Training
  • These are CE courses that will be provided at GT Conferences
• Geek Therapeutics Co-Sponsored Training
  • These are CE courses that are training that GT has authorized, co-sponsored, or provided to another agency by GT.

Registrants with CE due before or in 2022 are required to submit 12 hours of geek therapy specific training taken within their CE cycle.

Beginning January 1, 2023, all active registrants will be required to submit 24 hours of geek therapy specific instruction  with their next CE renewal. Two (2) of the 24 hours must be in ethics and cultural competency and two (2) hours must be in telehealth and documentation specific to geek therapy.

We can accept continuing education hours taken within your CE cycle (12-month period). Your CE cycle begins the day after your CE due date and ends on your next CE due date. Training taken outside of your CE cycle will not be accepted.

E.g., your continuing education hours are due 3/31/2024. Your CE cycle would be 4/1/2023 – 3/31/2024.

Currently, CE’s from Geek Therapeutics Education Center are the only approved Continuing Education Units that will be counted towards annual certification.

In addition to the required geek therapy specific hours, CGT-Ss must also document 4 hours of clinical supervisor training. These hours must be completed through your Geek Therapeutics Education System. Please refer to your member profile or your confirmation of renewal letter for the number of supervisor CE due with your next renewal.

CE certificates are not required to be submitted with your renewal and will not be accepted in lieu of the CE Verification Form. Additionally, emailed or mailed copies of the CE Verification Form will not be accepted. The CE Verification Form must be uploaded onto the online renewal application at the time of submission.

To request a replacement or duplicate wall certificate please complete the Certificate Reprint form. The reprint fee for wall certificates is $12.50.
